الوضوء - Wudu (Ablution)

قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: ﴿يٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَوٰةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ﴾

"O you who believe, when you rise for prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows..." (Al-Ma'idah 5:6)

دُعَاء قَبْلَ الوُضُوء - Before Wudu

بِسْمِ اللهِ

Bismillah

"In the name of Allah"

النِّيَّة - Intention

أَنْوِي الوُضُوءَ لِرَفْعِ الحَدَث

Make the intention in your heart to perform wudu for worship. The intention is in the heart, not spoken aloud.

غَسْلُ اليَدَيْن - Wash Hands

غَسْلُ الكَفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّات

Wash both hands up to the wrists, ensuring water reaches between the fingers.

المَضْمَضَة - Rinse Mouth

المَضْمَضَةُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّات

Take water into the mouth, swirl it around thoroughly, then spit it out.

× 3 times

الاسْتِنْشَاق وَالاسْتِنْثَار - Rinse Nose

إِدْخَالُ المَاءِ فِي الأَنْفِ ثُمَّ إِخْرَاجُهُ

Inhale water into the nose using the right hand, then expel it using the left hand.

× 3 times

غَسْلُ الوَجْه - Wash Face

غَسْلُ الوَجْهِ مِنْ مَنَابِتِ الشَّعْرِ إِلَى أَسْفَلِ الذَّقْن

Wash the entire face from the hairline to below the chin, and from ear to ear.

× 3 times

غَسْلُ اليَدَيْنِ إِلَى المِرْفَقَيْن - Wash Arms

غَسْلُ اليَدِ اليُمْنَى ثُمَّ اليُسْرَى إِلَى المِرْفَقَيْن

Wash the right arm from fingertips to elbow (including the elbow), then the left arm.

مَسْحُ الرَّأْس - Wipe Head

مَسْحُ الرَّأْسِ مِنْ مُقَدَّمِهِ إِلَى قَفَاهُ ثُمَّ الرُّجُوع

Wipe the entire head with wet hands, from front to back and back to front.

× 1 time

مَسْحُ الأُذُنَيْن - Wipe Ears

مَسْحُ دَاخِلِ الأُذُنَيْن وَخَارِجِهِمَا

Wipe the inside of the ears with the index fingers and the outside with the thumbs.

× 1 time

غَسْلُ القَدَمَيْن - Wash Feet

غَسْلُ القَدَمِ اليُمْنَى ثُمَّ اليُسْرَى إِلَى الكَعْبَيْن

Wash the right foot to the ankle (including ankle), ensuring water reaches between toes, then the left foot.

× 3 times each

دُعَاء بَعْدَ الوُضُوء - After Wudu

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuuluh

"I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger."

📝 Important Notes

Order is obligatory - Follow the sequence as described
Continuity - Do not leave long gaps between washing parts
Use clean water - Water must be pure (tahoor)
Right before left - Always wash the right side first
