The name "Tarwiyah" means "quenching" - historically, pilgrims would fill their water containers on this day for the journey ahead. This is the first day of Hajj rituals, a day of preparation, prayer, and spiritual readiness.
Make intention for Hajj from your accommodation
Arrive before Dhuhr prayer
Pray Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, Fajr
Spend the night in tents (Sunnah)
Perform Ghusl (ritual bath) at your hotel in Makkah. Put on Ihram garments.
Recite: "Labbayk Allahumma bi-Hajjah" (Here I am O Allah, for Hajj). Begin reciting the Talbiyah frequently.
Travel to Mina via bus or metro. Aim to reach before Dhuhr prayer.
Perform Dhuhr, Asr prayers (shortened to 2 Rak'ahs but at their normal times, not combined).
Pray Maghrib (3 Rak'ahs) and Isha (shortened to 2 Rak'ahs) in your tent.
Spend the night in Mina. Engage in Dhikr, Dua, and prepare mentally for the Day of Arafat.

Staying overnight in Mina on the 8th is a Sunnah, not obligatory. However, it is highly recommended as it prepares the pilgrim spiritually and physically for the intense Day of Arafat ahead.
