١ وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ
Waylul-likulli humazatil-lumazah
Woe to every scorner and mocker,
٢ الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ
Alladhee jama'a maalaw-wa 'addadah
Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.
٣ يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ
Yahsabu anna maalahoo akhladah
He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.
٤ كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ
Kallaa, la-yunbadhanna fil-hutamah
No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.
٥ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ
Wa maa adraaka mal-hutamah
And what can make you know what the Crusher is?
٦ نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ
Naarul-laahil-mooqadah
It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,
٧ الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ
Allatee tattali'u 'alal-af-idah
Which mounts directed at the hearts.
٨ إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
Innahaa 'alayhim-mu'sadah
Indeed, it [Hellfire] will be closed over them,
٩ فِي عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ
Fee 'amadim-mumaddadah
