سورة الماعون

١ أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ

Ara-aytal-ladhee yukadhdhibu bid-deen

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

٢ فَذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ

Fadhalikal-ladhee yadu''ul-yateem

For that is the one who drives away the orphan,

٣ وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

Wa laa yahuddu 'alaa ta'aamil-miskeen

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

٤ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ

Fa-waylul-lil-musalleen

So woe to those who pray,

٥ الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ

Alladheena hum 'an salaatihim saahoon

[But] who are heedless of their prayer—

٦ الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ

Alladheena hum yuraa-oon

Those who make show [of their deeds],

٧ وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ

Wa yamna'oonal-maa'oon

And withhold [simple] assistance.

⚠️ Important Clarification

"Saahoon" (ساهون) means heedless OF their prayer - not IN their prayer. This refers to those who delay prayer, miss it, or don't care about it - not those who make unintentional mistakes during prayer.
