سُورَةُ النَّاس
Surah An-Nas | Mankind | 6 Ayat | Makki | Surah 114
Seeking Refuge with the Lord of Mankind
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
١ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
Qul a'oodhu bi-Rabbin-naas
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."
قُلْSay

بِرَبِّin the Lord
النَّاسِof mankind
٢ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
Malikin-naas
The King of mankind.
مَلِكِKing
النَّاسِof mankind
٣ إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ
Ilaahin-naas
The God of mankind.
إِلٰهِGod
النَّاسِof mankind
٤ مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
Min sharril-waswaasil-khannaas
From the evil of the retreating whisperer.

الْخَنَّاسِthe retreating
٥ الَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
Alladhee yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-naas
Who whispers in the breasts of mankind.

صُدُورِbreasts/hearts
النَّاسِof mankind
٦ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
Minal-jinnati wan-naas
From among the jinn and mankind.

📖 About This Surah
• This is the last Surah of the Quran (Surah 114).
• Along with Surah Al-Falaq, they are called "Al-Mu'awwidhatayn" (The Two Protections).
• The Prophet ﷺ used to recite them before sleeping and blow on his hands, then wipe over his body.
• It seeks protection from Shaytan who whispers evil thoughts but retreats when Allah is remembered.
