Page 9 of 13 • Book 14: Hajj and Umrah

📍 Overview

These are the "Days of Tashreeq" - days of celebration, remembrance (Dhikr), and completing the Hajj rituals. You will stay in Mina and stone all three Jamarat each day.

📢 Takbir of Tashreeq

After every Fard prayer from Fajr of the 9th until Asr of the 13th, recite:

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ

🪨 Stoning All Three Jamarat

Unlike the 10th (when you only stone the large pillar), on the 11th, 12th, and 13th you stone all three Jamarat in sequence.

Stoning Sequence (Start from Small)

🪨

Small (Sughra)

7 pebbles
🪨

Medium (Wusta)

7 pebbles
🪨

Large (Aqabah)

7 pebbles

Total per day: 21 pebbles (7 × 3 pillars)

🤲 Dua After Each Pillar

  • After Small Pillar: Step aside, face Qiblah, make long Dua ✅
  • After Medium Pillar: Step aside, face Qiblah, make long Dua ✅
  • After Large Pillar: NO Dua - leave immediately ❌

⏰ Daily Schedule

📅 11th, 12th, (and 13th) Dhul-Hijjah

Stay in Mina Spend the majority of each night in your Mina tent
After Zawaal Stone all 3 Jamarat (timing begins after midday)
Evening Rest, worship, prepare for next day or departure

⏰ Stoning Time Window

Classical View: After Zawaal (solar noon) until Fajr of the next day
Modern Fatwas: Due to safety concerns, many scholars permit stoning before noon. Check with your group's scholar.

🚶 Departure Options

⚡ Early Departure (Ta'ajjul)

Leave on 12th Dhul-Hijjah

  • Complete stoning on the 12th
  • Leave Mina before sunset
  • Valid and permissible

⭐ Full Stay (Ta'akhkhur)

Leave on 13th Dhul-Hijjah

  • Stone on the 13th as well
  • More rewarding (Sunnah)
  • Less crowded departure

⚠️ Critical Rule for Early Departure

If you choose to leave on the 12th, you MUST exit Mina's boundaries before sunset. If sunset catches you still in Mina, you are obligated to stay and stone on the 13th.

🕋 Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf)

Before leaving Makkah, perform the Farewell Tawaf. This must be the very last thing you do in Makkah.

👩 Exemption for Women

Menstruating women are exempted from Tawaf al-Wada. They may leave Makkah without it.

✅ Hajj Complete!

🎉 Hajj Mabrur! May Allah accept your pilgrimage! 🎉

With the Farewell Tawaf complete, your Hajj is concluded. The Prophet ﷺ said:

الحَجُّ المَبْرُورُ لَيْسَ لَهُ جَزَاءٌ إِلَّا الجَنَّةُ

"An accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise."
