١ إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
Idhaa zulzilatil-ardu zilzaalahaa
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake,
٢ وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا
Wa akhrajatil-ardu athqaalahaa
And the earth discharges its burdens,
٣ وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا
Wa qaalal-insaanu maa lahaa
And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?"
٤ يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا
Yawma-idhin tuhaddithu akhbaarahaa
That Day, it will report its news,
٥ بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا
Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa lahaa
Because your Lord has commanded it.
٦ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ
Yawma-idhin yasdurun-naasu ashtaatal-liyuraw a'maalahum
That Day, the people will come forth in separated groups to be shown their deeds.
٧ فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ
Famay-ya'mal mithqaala dharratin khayray-yarah
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it.
٨ وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ
Wa may-ya'mal mithqaala dharratin sharran-yarah
And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
📖 About This Surah
• This Surah describes the Day of Judgment when the earth will be violently shaken.
• The earth will testify about everything that happened on it - every deed!
• Verses 7-8 are among the most powerful in the Quran - NO deed is too small.
• The Prophet ﷺ called this Surah "the comprehensive one" (الجامعة).
• He ﷺ said: "Reciting it is equal to half the Quran." (Tirmidhi)
